Leon Draisaitl, born in 1995 in Cologne, Germany, is a star forward and alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers. Drafted 3rd overall in 2014, he’s become one of the NHL’s top players, known for his scoring and playmaking. Draisaitl won the Art Ross, Hart Memorial, and Ted Lindsay awards in 2020 and led the league in goals (52) during the 2024–25 season. In 2024, he signed a record eight-year, $112 million contract extension, cementing his legacy as one of the NHL’s elite.
