Korbinian Holzer built his career around physical defense, positioning and reliability. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected the Munich-born defenseman in the fourth round of the 2006 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut with Toronto in 2010–11 and later played for the Anaheim Ducks and Nashville Predators. Across his NHL career, Holzer appeared in 231 regular-season games while filling a defense-first role.

After leaving the NHL in 2020, Holzer continued his career in Europe. He played in the KHL, DEL and ICE Hockey League before joining the Graz99ers. In 2026, he won the ICEHL championship with Graz and then ended his professional playing career. From July 2026, Holzer became a DEB adviser and team chief of Germany’s U20 national team. In addition, he stayed with Graz as a development coach for the 2026–27 season. He also began his coaching education. His career now connects NHL experience, international hockey and player development in Germany and Austria.
