Career profile

Player biography

Nick Mazzolini built a professional career that connected North American and European hockey. The Anchorage-born forward played college hockey at Providence before turning professional with the Alaska Aces. He became a leading scorer in the ECHL and later served as Alaska’s captain. In 2014, Mazzolini helped the Aces win the Kelly Cup before continuing his career in Germany.

Mazzolini joined Löwen Frankfurt and became an important offensive player for the club in the DEL2. Injuries later limited his final seasons, including two hip operations. Frankfurt won the DEL2 championship in 2017, while Mazzolini was unable to play during that season. He ended his playing career that summer. Soon afterward, he briefly moved into coaching in the United States and took over the Fayetteville Marksmen in 2017. Overall, his career combined scoring ability, leadership and experience on both sides of the Atlantic.
