Player biography
Dennis Seidenberg built a 15-season NHL career as a strong, defense-first blueliner. The Philadelphia Flyers selected him in the sixth round of the 2001 NHL Draft. He later played for Phoenix, Carolina and Florida before joining the Boston Bruins in 2010. Seidenberg found his greatest team success in Boston. His physical play, shot blocking and heavy minutes became important parts of the Bruins’ defense.
In 2011, Seidenberg helped Boston win the Stanley Cup and became the second German player to lift the trophy. He later finished his NHL career with the New York Islanders. Across 859 regular-season games, Seidenberg recorded 251 points and added 69 playoff appearances. In addition, he represented Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, where the team reached the final. Afterward, Seidenberg moved into player-development work with the Islanders. His durability and playoff success secured his place among Germany’s most accomplished NHL defensemen.
