Christoph Schubert began his NHL career with the Ottawa Senators, who selected him in the first round, 22nd overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Making his debut during the 2005-2006 season, Schubert was known for his versatility, capable of playing both defense and forward positions. He spent six seasons with the Senators before being traded to the Atlanta Thrashers in 2009. Schubert also had brief stints with the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Vancouver Canucks. Over his NHL career, which lasted from 2005 to 2010, he played 315 games, scoring 14 goals and 34 assists.
