Player biography
Lukas Reichel developed in Eisbären Berlin’s system before becoming a first-round NHL Draft pick. The Chicago Blackhawks selected him 17th overall in October 2020. During the following 2020–21 DEL season, Reichel helped Berlin win the German championship. He then moved to North America and split time between Chicago and its AHL affiliate while working toward a regular NHL role.
Reichel’s career took several turns during the 2025–26 season. He played for Chicago and Vancouver before the Boston Bruins acquired him in March 2026. Boston later signed him to a one-year extension through the 2026–27 season. Reichel also represented Germany at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games and the 2026 IIHF World Championship. His skating, puck skills and ability to play multiple forward positions remain central to his game. The move to Boston provided a fresh opportunity to establish a more consistent NHL role.
